Support staff can assist with almost any “maintenance” that residents need. This includes:

• Dressing
• Bathing
• Grooming
• Cooking Meals
• Toileting
• Transferring
• Managing Medications

Staff are prepared to assist with these needs, among other services that may be required, as long as the total time is less than 28 hours per week.

Most RCACs require you to provide all bedroom furnishings, such as a mattress, box spring, headboard, nightstand, and dresser. You also may be responsible for supplying toilet paper, towels, washcloths, linens, and other items and toiletries. 

Required items may vary from location to location; speak with your Assisted Living Advisor to determine what items are on your loved ones' packing list.

All support staff have completed state-mandated training on first aid, standard precautions, medication administration, and fire safety. Each RCAC provides additional training to team members to ensure residents are comfortable and, more importantly, safe.

RCACs have staff available 24/7 in case of emergency.

It’s never easy to consider, but your seniors may need an RCAC if you’ve noticed a decline in their independent living conditions. If they’ve experienced a fall or maneuvering around the house has become more of a chore, it may be time to consider RCAC.
